When considering a residential elevator, one of the first questions asked is about safety. Airo Home elevators have car locks, which are responsible for anchoring the cabin on each level. They are composed of two steel levers located above the ceiling.
During ascent car locks remain open, and once the cabin reaches the desired landing sensor, the car lock engages and firmly anchors on to the guides of lift structure. Hence, our residential elevator always stops at the exact floor level, to facilitate safe entry and exit of passengers. During descent, the cabin goes upwards a few inches in order to release the car latch, then allowing the car to freely descend.
🔹 In the event of a power failure, our lifts always descend to the bottommost floor at a regulated speed released from air valve, at which point the passenger is always able to exit safely because the doors are operated by mechanical door locks.
🔹 What happens in the event of a vacuum loss?
Our air driven residential elevators have mechanical safety brakes which come into action only if an extreme circumstance arises as a result of the detection of loss of vacuum over the top seal. These mechanical safety brakes are activated within the first 5 cm of free fall if vacuum loss is detected, and the cabin immediately anchors to the guides of lift structure at that point. With all of these security features, our elevator is “the world’s safest home elevator.“
The price of a home lift ranges from ₹9.9 lakh to ₹16 lakh. The cost depends on factors such as the lift’s capacity, customization options, number of floors, and additional features.
As urbanization continues in Indian Metropolitan cities, home elevators are becoming an increasingly important amenity for villa owners seeking greater convenience, accessibility, and property value enhancement. By carefully considering the factors discussed in this blog, you can choose and install a home lift that perfectly suits your needs and enhances your lifestyle.
